Due studiose si confrontano sul lavoro femminile per interrogarsi sulle radici culturali delle disuguaglianze e sulla loro persistenza nel presente. Elisa Bellato, antropologa e museologa, ci accompagna in un viaggio nella quotidianità delle filande tra Ottocento e Novecento. Il lavoro femminile nella produzione della seta viene letto come un “fatto sociale totale”, capace di rivelare modelli educativi, logiche economiche e relazioni familiari in un contesto rurale in profondo cambiamento. Chi erano le giovani donne che varcavano la soglia delle filande? Quali sogni, quali condizioni di vita e quale valore aveva per loro quel salario, seppur modesto? In un’epoca segnata dall’autoconsumo e dalla dipendenza familiare, il lavoro retribuito costituiva un cambiamento di status e, in alcuni casi, una forma di emancipazione. Un racconto fatto anche di resistenza silenziosa, di complicità tra ragazze, e di memorie che ancora oggi parlano di speranza. Tania Toffanin, sociologa del lavoro e ricercatrice del CNR, proporrà una rilettura del mercato del lavoro in un’ottica di genere, analizzando i percorsi di segregazione occupazionale e i divari di genere in prospettiva diacronica.
