Conrad. Una vita senza confini Cento anni fa, il 3 agosto del 1924, moriva in un piccolo e tranquillo villaggio dell'Inghilterra meridionale, Józef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski, ovvero Joseph Conrad, uno dei più grandi scrittori della modernità. Unico erede di una famiglia aristocratica polacca, quasi cinquant'anni prima aveva lasciato il suo Paese per sfuggire alla polizia zarista e per inseguire il sogno romantico di una vita sul mare. Si era imbarcato a Marsiglia e aveva navigato per vent'anni. Questa vita avventurosa, sempre a contatto con il lato più selvaggio e imprevedibile della natura e degli esseri umani, trovò poi forma, trasfigurata, in capolavori come La linea d'ombra, Cuore di tenebra, Lord Jim, Tifone.
