Calculating distance...
Journalism was transformed for better and for worse by platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and more recently TikTok. Now, the walled gardens are crumbling. Elon Musk killed Twitter and turned its successor into a ‘hell site’ for traditional media. Meta has demoted news and politics on its social apps, and the war in Gaza exposed the collapse of truth and trust across the social web.
But could there be grounds for optimism, with the rise of new social spaces and open protocols? Will the new social web be a safer and more secure place for quality journalism? Join this uniquely experienced panel to discuss the future of news on social media.
