L'Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli, grazie alle attività di controllo di merci e prodotti, ha un ruolo cardine in ambito marittimo, tutelando la sicurezza e la salute della cittadinanza in collaborazione con altri enti. Oggi scoprirete due strumenti usati dai laboratori chimici dell'Agenzia per raggiungere l'obiettivo di proteggere l'ambiente e preservare gli oceani e la biodiversità. Il primo è la tecnica del DNA Barcoding, impiegata per l’identificazione delle specie ittiche: dall’estrazione del DNA, all’amplificazione e sequenziamento del tratto di interesse, fino al riconoscimento mediante banche dati. Il secondo è il protocollo MARPOL, attuato in collaborazione con la Guardia Costiera: scoprirete l’importanza del controllo dell’inquinamento per la salute dei mari e dell’aria, usando strumenti da laboratorio utili per analisi su combustili e il laboratorio chimico mobile per le analisi di screening sui gasoli.
